Heart Challenge AI Scores Explained: What Your Rating Actually Means
In This Article
You took the photo, struck the heart body pose, and submitted it to HeartRated. A number appeared on your screen. But what does that score actually mean? How did the AI arrive at it, and what role does the community play? This guide breaks down the entire scoring system so you know exactly where you stand and how to improve.
The Two-Part Scoring System
Your final heart challenge score is not determined by the AI alone. It is a weighted combination of two components: the AI score and the community score. The AI evaluates your pose the moment you submit it. The community score builds over time as other users interact with your submission.
Here is the breakdown:
- AI Score (20% of final rating): An instant analysis of your pose across four criteria.
- Community Score (80% of final rating): Accumulated from swipe votes and gift hearts from other users.
This means that even a modest AI score can climb significantly if the community responds well to your submission. Conversely, a perfect pose with no community engagement will plateau. The system rewards both quality and appeal.
How the AI Score Works
When you submit a heart body pose, the AI analyzes your image across four specific dimensions:
- Shape Clarity (how recognizable is the heart): The AI looks for a clearly defined heart silhouette. Complete outlines with no gaps score highest. If parts of the heart shape are broken or ambiguous, this score drops.
- Symmetry (balance between both halves): A heart has two lobes. The AI compares the left and right sides for visual balance. Perfect mirror symmetry is not required — minor natural asymmetry is expected — but significant imbalances will reduce this score.
- Form (quality of the pose execution): This evaluates how well the body creates the shape. Smooth, natural curves score higher than sharp angles or forced positions. The AI can distinguish between a relaxed, well-practiced pose and a tense, rushed attempt.
- Presentation (overall visual impact): Everything around the pose matters here. Lighting quality, background contrast, outfit choice, and composition all contribute. A well-lit photo with a clean background will outscore an identical pose taken in poor conditions.
Each dimension is scored on a 0 to 100 scale, and they combine into your overall AI score.
What Your Score Range Means
Not every score is created equal. Here is what each range typically indicates about your heart pose attempt:
- 0 to 30 — Needs Work: The heart shape is not clearly recognizable. This usually means the pose fundamentals need adjustment — the arch, hand placement, or angle is significantly off. Review the basics and try again.
- 30 to 50 — Decent Attempt: The heart shape is visible but has noticeable issues. Maybe one side is much larger than the other, or the bottom point is incomplete. You are on the right track but there is room for refinement.
- 50 to 70 — Solid: A clearly recognizable heart shape with good form. Most users land in this range on their first few attempts. The pose works, and improvements from here are about fine-tuning details like lighting and symmetry.
- 70 to 85 — Impressive: Strong shape clarity, good symmetry, and solid presentation. You are in the upper tier of submissions. Getting here usually requires intentional effort with lighting, angle, and outfit choice.
- 85 to 100 — Elite: Top 5% of all submissions. Near-perfect shape, excellent symmetry, strong presentation. Reaching this level consistently requires practice, attention to the scoring criteria, and often a dedicated photo setup.

How Community Score Works
The community score accounts for 80% of your final rating, making it the dominant factor. It builds from two sources: swipe votes and gift hearts.
In the Discover tab, other users see your submission in a TikTok-style feed and can swipe to vote. Each positive vote nudges your community score upward. The more people who see and approve your pose, the higher this score climbs.
Gift hearts are even more powerful. Other users can send you hearts — a virtual currency that can be purchased or earned through app activity. When someone sends hearts to your submission, it directly boosts your community score. This is HeartRated's gifting system, inspired by the TikTok Live gifting model. The more hearts your pose receives, the higher it climbs on the leaderboard.
Tips to Improve Your Score
Focus on the AI score first. Get your shape clarity, symmetry, and form as high as possible — these are entirely within your control. Use the step-by-step pose guide to nail the fundamentals. Then optimize presentation with better lighting and a clean background.
For community score, timing and engagement matter. Submit during peak hours when more users are active in the Discover feed. Share your HeartRated submission to your social media to drive votes. And participate in the community — voting on others' submissions increases your visibility in the feed.
